Although most celebrities strive to cultivate a distinctive personal style, it is not unusual for several famous faces to embrace the same fashion brand at once. Sometimes, it is a matter of fashion house ambassadors choosing the labels they represent for the red carpet, while at other times, celebrity stylists simply happen to fall for the same brilliant collections. At one point, for example, several pop girls decided that Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s designs were perfect for the stage, while Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner are currently wearing the exact same coat by Conner Ives, a brand Kate Moss has adored for years. And when several celebrities start wearing pieces from the same label, we know a trend is on the horizon. This autumn, judging by celebrity outfits, the brand in the spotlight is Erdem.
Designer Erdem Moralioglu, the creative force behind the British fashion house, has made a name for himself with collections built around complex narratives, often inspired by historical figures and events. His designs are distinguished by intricate hand embroidery and elaborate embellishments that lend each collection a sense of romance. In Erdem’s latest Spring 2027 collection, androgynous elements come to the fore through designs that balance traditionally masculine silhouettes with feminine, romantic details. As in previous seasons, the collection draws inspiration from a significant historical figure. This time, the focus was on Barbette, an American performer and trapeze artist who rose to fame during the 1920s and was known for performances that explored the boundaries of gender expression.

The intriguing narratives behind Erdem’s collections are enough to attract a star-studded audience, but I believe it is the distinctive nature of the designs that keeps celebrities coming back. Erdem’s collections offer theatrical silk dresses with dramatic, ballerina-worthy skirts, like those worn by Rosalía and Sienna Miller, as well as delicate slip dresses with carefully applied embellishments, recently chosen by Nicole Kidman and Kim Kardashian. The combination of classic romantic silhouettes with a chic, sometimes rock-inspired twist demonstrates that the best designs emerge from a balance of softness and strength, and it is precisely this combination that has earned the brand popularity among a wider audience. The gender fluidity of Erdem’s designs has also allowed male stars to embrace the label’s delicate aesthetic, including Troye Sivan, who pushed the boundaries of the classic black suit at the MTV VMAs.
