Alvin Tedjo has been declared Mississauga’s new mayor after pulling off a decisive victory on Monday night.
Tedjo, who has served as Ward 2 councillor since 2022, earned 74,479 votes to incumbent Carolyn Parrish’s 51,853 votes with 100 per cent of polls reporting as of shortly after 11:30 p.m.
Former mayor Bonnie Crombie finished third with 43,191 votes while Ward 7 Coun. Dipika Damerla was fourth, with 11,500 votes.
Mississauga residents also voted for 11 city and regional council members, and a slate of school board trustees.
Parrish, who won a byelection in June 2024, was attempting to fend off challenges from her predecessor Crombie in addition to Tedjo and Damerla.
