Big winner, family dinner.
A local man thought he’d won $250 on a recent lottery draw, but got a big surprise when he got a clerk to check the ticket.
Tenzin P. was in a convenience store when he checked his ticket for the Oct. 26 Daily Grand draw.
“I thought it was only $250,” recalls the winner in a press release. “I brought it to the retailer and he checked the ticket for me, and he said, ‘Bro that’s $250,000!’ I was very excited!”
He and another winner in Manitoba are sharing the $500,000 secondary prize.
His wife was the first person he told.
“She almost cried. She was very happy,” he says.
Now he’ll be taking her and his family for a dinner out to celebrate.
Tenzin bought his ticket at the Chevron gas station at the intersection of King George Boulevard and 102 Avenue in Surrey.
