Brampton Transit riders may need to adjust their morning commute as new schedules and service changes affecting 15 bus routes take effect today (Nov. 2).
The changes include updated weekday schedules on several busy routes, along with adjustments to Saturday and Sunday service. The City of Brampton says the changes are intended to improve service reliability and better reflect operational needs and ridership demand.
One of the more significant changes affects Route 54 County Court, which is being realigned to serve Havelock Drive. The route will also have revised schedules throughout the week, including weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Several other routes will have new weekday schedules starting today. They include:
511 Züm Steeles
Route 2 Main
Routes 4 and 4C Chinguacousy
Routes 5 and 5A Bovaird
Route 26 Mount Pleasant
Route 29 Williams
Route 35 Clarkway
Routes 50 and 50A Gore Road
Route 52 McMurchy
Route 53 Ray Lawson
Route 54 County Court
Route 58 Financial
Route 60 Mississauga Road
Route 104 Chinguacousy Express
Weekend passengers will also see schedule adjustments on several routes.
Saturday schedules are changing on Route 23 Sandalwood, Route 35 Clarkway, Route 52 McMurchy and Route 54 County Court.
Sunday schedules are changing on Route 35 Clarkway, Route 52 McMurchy and Route 54 County Court.
While most of the changes involve revised schedules rather than completely different routes, even small adjustments to departure times could affect passengers who rely on the bus to get to work, school or appointments, particularly those making connections with other transit services.
Brampton Transit is encouraging passengers to check the updated schedules before heading out to avoid missing their usual bus or having to adjust their travel plans.
