Some big news from BMC. The Swiss brand will be finally in the top level of women’s cycling next year. For 2027, it will be partnering with Spanish team Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi as its official technical supplier.

The Swiss brand will provide the team with the whole kit and kaboodle when it comes to the team’s machines. That means framesets, cockpits and hoops.

It comes at a time when women’s cycling continues to grow and gain popularity. More races, more coverage, more teams–and that’s why BMC says returning to women’s professional racing is clutch.

“Women’s racing is thrilling, inspiring, dynamic and growing rapidly worldwide,” Heine said.

For Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi, it’s all about growth too. The deal brings one of the more well-known gear partners on board. It’s important to the ProTeam as the team looks to build on its spot in the international peloton.

“We are excited with this partnership with BMC,” Iñaki Isasi, president of Fundación Euskadi, said. “Their technical standards and culture of performance correspond to the ambitions of our team.”

The team is expected to race a pretty busy international calendar in 2027. That means the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France Femmes and La Vuelta Femenina. They also plan to go to several of the biggest one-day Classics. With all those races, it means its existing ranking has already secured invitations to major events. So that gives BMC plenty of opportunities to get its equipment in front of a global audience.

For BMC, the agreement is also a chance to reconnect with women’s racing after an absence from the top level. It’s been a minute, but in 2008, BMC sponsored Proman Cycling. And six years ago they partnered with PatoBike–BMC.

The 2027 squad is mostly Spanish, but there are a few others from different countries, including Norway, Italy, Chile and Ukraine.
