2025 Roster

2025 Schedule

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women’s soccer team is in the midst of one of its most successful runs in program history under 18th-year head coach Erik Burstein, and the squad will look to continue that stretch in its 42nd season of play in 2025.

The Maroon and Gold ended the 2024 campaign with a 12-5-6 mark that included seven conference victories and an undefeated, 6-0-4 mark at Keystone Field – its first undefeated home mark in program history. KU appeared on the United Soccer Coaches national polls on a weekly basis, where they are once again receiving votes to start the 2025 season.

The Golden Bears look to continue its success in the postseason, a tall task they were able to overcome a season ago. KU managed to go on the road and knock off West Chester – knocking off the defending Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference champions while ending their NCAA Tournament appearance streak of more than two decades – before defeating Gannon and ending the Golden Knights’ 18-game unbeaten streak. Kutztown reached its seventh PSAC Championship game in program history and recorded a win in the opening round of the NCAA tournament over Charleston (W. Va.) before bowing out on a last-second goal to second-seeded Gannon.

Kutztown returns its forward tandem of Corinne Morgan (Port Republic, N.J./Cedar Creek) and Caroline McDonald (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East), as well as goalkeeping tandem Morgan O’Donnell (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) and Cassidy Howes (Havre de Grace, Md./Havre de Grace). Senior defender Skyler Jordan (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) and junior midfielders Maura Day (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Abington) and Mary Nangle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) are also among the returning contributors from last year, but there are plenty of open minutes that could be filled by new faces this year.

The challenge of 2025 can be seen in the roster changes, as Burstein will have to weather the departure of a large chunk of his starting 11 from a season ago, including pillars of great Golden Bear teams on all three levels. The squad reloads its roster with 11 freshmen, while it will look to elevate more of its experienced players into regular roles for the upcoming season.

Kutztown was picked to finish third in the PSAC preseason coaches poll, slotted behind PSAC Champion Shepherd and conference rival West Chester, with all three garnering first-place votes. Bloomsburg, East Stroudsburg and Millersville are seen as top challengers for the East Division’s four postseason berths.

The Golden Bears open the season on the road with a non-conference game against Concord (W. Va.) on Thursday, Sept. 4, before playing a slate of 16 PSAC East games. It opens its home schedule with its Morgan’s Message game against Millersville at Keystone Field on Wednesday, Sept. 10, while hosting rematches of last season’s postseason games against Shepherd (Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.) and West Chester (Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.).

KU will look to compete for a chance to compete in the PSAC Women’s Soccer Championship, with the First Round taking place on Nov. 8 and the Championship game set for Nov. 16. The NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championships will begin on Nov. 20 and will conclude with the championship on Saturday, Dec. 13.
