We have some interesting new information regarding the New York Islanders, following the successful trade pulled off by the Montreal Canadiens.

Basically, other NHL teams immediately assumed that since the Islanders had traded Noah Dobson to the Canadiens, everyone on the roster might now be available.

But unfortunately for them, that was absolutely not the case.

Other Trade Offers Sent to the Islanders After Montreal’s Successful Deal for Noah Dobson

However, the other teams weren’t as lucky as Montreal.

Let’s just say Mathieu Darche’s phone was ringing non-stop following the Noah Dobson trade.

Chris Johnston: “The Islanders had a lot of calls on Pageau, Barzal, Horvat; other teams wondered was this gonna be a selloff there; Mathieu Darche..has signalled he doesn’t wanna do that; Dobson trade wasn’t a signal of the overall direction of the team”

In the end, all signs point to Noah Dobson being the only major player to leave the New York Islanders this summer.

So we can expect Patrick Roy to start the upcoming season with Mathew Barzal, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, and Bo Horvat still in his lineup.
