Former Indiana men’s soccer player and current FC Cincinnati goalkeeper Roman Celentano will join the U.S. men’s national soccer team for the upcoming FIFA International Window. Celentano is one of three goalkeepers to make the 23-man roster.
FC Cincinnati drafted Celentano No. 2 overall in the 2022 Major League Soccer SuperDraft following a prolific three-year career with the Hoosiers.
The Naperville, Illinois, native totaled 52 appearances with Indiana, securing 28 shutouts and a .62 goals-against average. Celentano earned two All-America selections, and he is still the only player to win two Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year awards.
Since joining FC Cincinnati, Celentano has started in all 118 of his appearances. He featured in every match but one in the 2023 MLS season, a year in which Cincinnati won the Supporters’ Shield for having the most points in the regular season.
Celentano has started in every MLS match for Cincinnati in the 2025 season, racking up nine clean sheets and a 1.25 goals per game average. He broke the club record for total minutes against Charlotte FC on Aug. 10, surpassing midfielder Luciano Acosta with 12,382 minutes across all competitions.
The September international window will mark Celentano’s second stint with the USMNT, as he first was called up in January 2024. However, he has yet to make a senior appearance for the national team.
