RUMORED ENGAGEMENT RING PRICE: $5.3 million, adjusted for inflation
Following the death of John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1963, Jackie Kennedy Onassis started a relationship with Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis. The two got engaged in 1968 when Aristotle proposed with a Harry Winston ring that featured a 40 carat marquise-cut diamond.
The ring was originally gifted to Aristotle by the jeweler, so it’s unknown how much the massive engagement ring was worth when they got engaged. Following Jackie‘s death, the ring was auctioned off for $2.6 million in 1996 or $5.3 million adjusted for inflation.
