According to a Weibo post from leaker Setsuna Digital, also known as Instant Digital, iPhone 17 Pro could sport a dynamic Liquid Glass-inspired white finish that shifts color with light, aligning with iOS 26’s translucent UI (via MacRumors).
The device will reportedly come in a shade that appears white but shifts subtly in hue depending on ambient lighting. This shift is believed to echo the Liquid Glass interface theme introduced at WWDC, which uses glass-like transparency to modernize the iOS appearance.
While this “special” color remains unconfirmed, it points to Apple’s broader commitment to visual cohesion between hardware and software. Liquid Glass employs frosted, translucent materials throughout iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. It gives UI elements a fluid appearance, adaptive textures, and motion-responsive visuals.
Insider reports suggest that future updates to iOS 26’s beta have dialed back the design’s transparency to improve readability and usability, indicating Apple’s careful balancing of style and function.
In tandem with this potential Liquid Glass color, multiple leaks have revealed four other color options for iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: classic Black, refined Dark Blue, metallic Silver, and a bold Orange or Copper tone. Renders show each shade, with the vivid orange catching significant attention for its departure from muted Pro finishes of the past.
Leaker Sonny Dickson further corroborated the orange color via images of camera lens covers, which included a “dark gold or copper” hue among the selections.
Reports also suggest that Apple is blending glass and aluminum in the chassis rather than using full titanium, and may adopt a new camera bar reminiscent of Pixel 9’s layout. Allegedly, the device will include a convex camera bump that visually mirrors iOS 26’s Liquid Glass UI waves.
Under the hood, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature Apple’s A19 Pro chipset, 12 GB of RAM, improved telephoto and selfie cameras, and upgraded charging capabilities.
