After a long day at work, a Florida resident named Cassidy was arriving home when she was struck by an uncanny feeling — the feeling that she was being watched.
Walking up to her front porch, everything appeared to be perfectly as it should be. At first. But then Cassidy noticed something was off about the cherished frog statue she keeps by her front door.
The lifeless statue suddenly didn’t seem so lifeless.
“As I was walking in after work, exhausted, I had to stop and drop everything to take a photo,” Cassidy told The Dodo.
From the shadowy insides of the frog statue’s mouth, an apt little animal sat gazing out.
“I could hardly believe it,” Cassidy said.
The animal inside the frog statue was, in fact, a frog — a living and breathing one, to be precise.
Following some recent rainstorms, he’d evidently found safe haven in the hollow internals of his form-cast counterpart.
“It was just too cute and funny,” Cassidy said. “Just a perfect and silly photo op.”
For Cassidy — who is a frog lover — the little amphibian’s presence inside her statue was just the thing to lift her spirits at the end of the day.
“It definitely lifted my mood after a long day,” she said.
The frog, meanwhile, just continued to watch.
There’s no telling yet if the frog will choose to live full-time in this frog-shaped abode. But Cassidy would be more than happy to call him neighbor if he decides to stay, stating:
“I would love if he made it his permanent home!”
