Dillon Danis has spoken about wanting to test himself inside the UFC Octagon for a long time.
While he’s currently on a different path, the controversial star is still optimistic about this being in his future once he’s able to get some wins under his belt in MMA.
Danis has recently said that he wants to fight at the UFC’s White House event in 2026, but there’s still a lot of work to be done before then.
The 32-year-old is set to compete in his third professional MMA bout this weekend at Misfits 22 in Manchester, England.
While Danis can become the promotion’s inaugural light heavyweight champion by beating Warren Spencer, this still won’t be the biggest win that he holds over a mixed martial artist.
Dillon Danis submitted UFC veteran Joe Lauzon in 2015
Alongside his fight with Logan Paul and friendship with Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis has become a big star because of his outspoken social media activity.
That being said, it was his personality and grappling skills that first saw him emerge as a prominent name in combat sports.
Danis currently has a pro MMA record of 2-0 but years before he stepped inside the Bellator cage for the first time in 2018, he had already competed against several big names in the sport.
During his grappling career, he came up against some former UFC stars, with one contest taking place against Octagon veteran Joe Lauzon.
Lauzon remained on the UFC roster from 2006 to 2019, racking up 27 fights in that time and accumulating several records.
One of those records, the most submission of the night bonuses in UFC history, will seemingly never be broken due to the promotion changing the way they hand out bonuses in 2014.
In May of 2015, Danis and Lauzon met at Metamoris 6 in California where the controversial star secured the win via D’Arce choke.

Dillon Danis may have grappled against some big names but he is yet to face one in MMA.
His two pro fights in Bellator (which took place in 2018 and 2019) were against names that even Danis himself has struggled to remember.
That being said, this isn’t necessarily surprising given his own lack of MMA experience.

On August 30, he will face an 0-0 fighter in Warren Spencer before he looks to target some bigger opponents, including Tony Ferguson who is also on the card.
