‘The new exhibition is a thought-provoking exploration of the emotional and psychological processes associated with release and renewal,’ curator Wiatr emphasized

The Alex Dufresne Gallery is opening a new exhibit on Saturday, Aug. 30, called “The Art of Letting Go.” It will feature works by over 50 regional artists, and a variety of media will be displayed, including watercolour, oil, mixed media and acrylic.

Gallery curator, Natasha Wiatr, elaborated on the exhibit’s theme in a release. “The Art of Letting Go is a thought-provoking exploration of the emotional and psychological processes associated with release and renewal.” Wiatr added, “This exhibition showcases a diverse range of artworks designed to inspire visitors to confront their own experiences of surrender, resilience, and growth.”

The displayed works explore these themes in various ways, Wiatr noted. “Each piece offers a unique perspective on the importance of emotional agility and the power of vulnerability.”

To open the show, the gallery is hosting a reception on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Some of the artists will be there, and some light refreshments will be available. Admission to the opening is free. Visitors can also tour the museum free of charge.

The Alex Dufresne Gallery is located at 107 Lansdowne Street East, in Callander. It’s in the same building as the Callander Bay Heritage Museum. “The Art of Letting Go” runs until Sept. 26.
