The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released wide receiver Max McLeod from the practice squad on Saturday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Max McLeod is six foot three and weighs 200 pounds. A native of Seattle, Washington, McLeod attended the Denver Broncos rookie minicamp in 2025. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed McLeod to the practice squad on July 21, 2025.

Collegiately, McLeod redshirted in 2019 and 2020 at the Colorado School of Mines. He would then play four seasons (2021-24) making 290 catches for 4,688 yards, 54 touchdowns, five carries for 29 yards, one rushing touchdown, three tackles (3 solos), and one fumble recovery in 56 games for the Mines Orediggers.

In 2024, he made 72 catches for 1,078 yards, 10 touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 11 games. He ranked in the NCAA D-II top-20 in receiving yards (9th, 1,078), yards per game (10th, 98.0), receptions per game (8th, 6.5), and receiving TDs (18th, 10).

He was named a two-time First Team All-NFFCC All-Colorado, three-time First Team All-RMAC, First Team All-American, and Second Team All-American by Don Hansen, AFCA, Associated Press, and D2football.com.

McLeod finished his career as the all-time record holder in yards, second in Mines and RMAC history. He had more career yards than any D-II player since 2008.
