Bubba Wallace talks about the viral posts that he wanted to ban the white flag in NASCAR
Ruling: False. Wildly false.
Every couple of weeks, there’s a new viral hoax circling the feeds regarding NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace. A recent trend of viral deception claimed that the No. 23 driver wanted NASCAR to ban the use of the white flag.
And, if there’s any non-racing fans here, the white flag is thrown from the flagstand simply to indicate that it’s the final lap of the race. It’s not going anywhere.
Of course, the driver for 23XI Racing, a team owned by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan never made that request.
So where did it come from? Thin air, rage bait, it’s as simple as that. You were baited by a social account.
But, to this day, that hoax still circulates. And if you open the comments, somehow, people actually believe he said that and they’re pissed.

Hey silly, Bubba Wallace never said anything about the white flag
Ahead of the playoffs, Bubba Wallace was asked by Jeff Gluck about that hoax directly…
“I can’t believe you have this piece of white paper next to me,” Bubba Wallace picked up the paper and sarcastically tossed it.
Wallace added, “Get it away from me.”
The crew in the film background began to laugh and Bubba could no longer hold a straight face. He busted out laughing.
“I can’t win.”
People thought the fake viral story of Wallace wanting to remove the white flag was very real.
“Yeah, and they still do.”
“The things I’ve said to myself are way worse than what anybody else could say to me. That’s not a way to live but it makes those dumb— scenarios a little bit easier.”
“But yeah, you can’t win. And at this point it’s just comical. But I haven’t been on Facebook in, I don’t know 3-4 years.”
Today, NASCAR is racing at Darlington Raceway. It’s the playoff opener and Wallace is one of 16 drivers in the championship battle.
