1. Us
The Stampeders look to avenge a Labour Day loss last season to the Edmonton Elks Monday at 4 p.m. MT at McMahon Stadium. The Red and White have won their last two contests, including a 32-15 victory over the Riders last time out, to sit at 7-3 on the season and second in the West Division. Daylen Baldwin had a breakout performance in that tilt, registering 84 receiving yards and his first CFL touchdown in the victory.

2. Them
The Elks have won three straight games entering Monday’s contest and are aiming to climb back into the playoff picture. Edmonton is still looking for their first division win of the season as they currently sit at 0-4. Their 4-6 record has them last in the West, one win back of the BC Lions for a possible crossover spot.
3. Head To Head
The Stamps dropped all three games to the Elks last season. This will be the first of back-to-back games between these two provincial rivals. After Monday, the Stamps will head up to Edmonton for the rematch Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. MT. They will also be in Edmonton Oct. 24 to wrap up the season series.
4. Fast Facts
Calgary and Edmonton have played 59 times on Labour Day since 1959 and the Stamps lead the series 31-27-1. Including games against other opponents, a total of 69 Labour Day games have been played in Calgary over the years, with the Stamps posting a 41-27-1 record.

Tribute to the Armed Forces
Since 2015, the tradition of the Labour Day Classic at McMahon has included a salute to the military as part of Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Day.
The game will be preceded by a flyover by two CF-18 Hornets, a ceremonial flag party and a performance of the national anthem by the Canadian Air Force.
Individual members of the Canadian Armed Forces will take the field alongside the Stampeders’ starting lineup.

5. Who’s Where
6. Players to Watch
Stamps: LB Adam Bighill: The 13-year CFL linebacker makes his long awaited debut for the Stampeders in Monday’s Labour Day Classic. Signed during Calgary’s first bye week on June 22, the 36-year old veteran has spent most of the time on the team’s practice roster rehabbing from a torn ACL he suffered in 2024.
Bighill has won three Grey Cups, been named all-CFL on six occasions, and won the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year award in 2015, 2018 and 2021.

Elks: QB Cody Fajardo: Fajardo is 3-2 since taking over as starting QB for the Elks. He has passed for 1,542 yards to go along with seven touchdowns and three interceptions as well as 138 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
7. Quotable
“I think anybody can beat anybody, and to me all the teams in the west are of a little bit extra importance. I think if you can beat those teams in the west, that’s how you end up winning your conference and we want a first round bye. They’re a great opponent and (I’m) looking forward to a great game.” – General manager and head coach Dave Dickenson on the importance of winning Monday’s Labour Day Classic over the Edmonton Elks.
