The NHL season is just about here, which is undoubtedly exciting news for hockey fans. Due to this, we here at NHL Trade Rumors will be starting a series looking at each team’s best addition and worst subtraction of the 2025 NHL off-season.
In this latest edition of the series, we will focus on the Anaheim Ducks. There is no question that they had themselves an eventful summer.Â
Best Addition: Chris KreiderÂ
The Ducks’ top offseason addition is certainly winger Chris Kreider. While the 34-year-old forward had a down year with the New York Rangers, he is a prime bounce-back candidate who should boost their offense very nicely. He will also give the Ducks more grit along with scoring, so he should be a strong addition to their roster as they look to become a playoff team again.Â
Worst Subtraction: Trevor ZegrasÂ
While Trevor Zegras needed a change of scenery for a good chunk of time, he is certainly a notable offseason departure for the Ducks. The 24-year-old has demonstrated in the past that he can be a legitimate top-six forward, and he could very well become a big part of the Philadelphia Flyers’ roster because of it. If he thrives in Philly, the Ducks could end up regretting the move.Â
