BizDateUp launches Pulse Fund I to back startups, SMEs, real estate

The BizDateUp leadership team

BizDateUp, a startup ecosystem enabler, has launched Pulse Fund I, a Category II alternative investment fund (AIF), with a corpus of Rs 1,000 crore ($113 million). This includes a base target of Rs 500 crore and a greenshoe option of the same size.

Pulse Fund I will invest 50% of its corpus in high-growth startups, 30% in profitable SMEs, and 20% in selective real estate equity. Structured as a 10-year close-ended fund (extendable by two years), it aims to provide patient capital along with hands-on support to portfolio companies.

The fund will prioritize investments in sectors such as AI, SaaS, fintech, healthtech, deeptech, defence, aerospace, gaming, EV mobility, green energy, and regtech, with particular focus on opportunities in India’s tier II and III cities.

The fund’s multi-sector, multi-stage strategy aims to balance risk while generating stable, long-term returns through multi-layer due diligence across financial, legal, and compliance parameters.

The fund will also leverage BizDateUp‘s in-house venture studio Model to provide post-investment support in areas like governance design, market access, and compliance enablement.

“We’re matching patient capital with hands-on mentorship, so founders can scale faster and smarter—with sustainable cash flows and clear exit pathways,” said Meet Jain, group CEO and co-founder, BizDateUp

BizDateUp is also ramping up its global expansion and aims to launch parallel funds in Singapore, the US, and Dubai over the next 24 months.

Founded by Jeet Chandan and Jain, BizDateUp supports startups through investments and ecosystem services. In FY24, it invested in more than 25 startups, raising a $10 million CAT-2 fund, and engaging with more than 1,000 active angel investors. It claims an average return of 3.5x.

Some of its investments include fintech startup Square Insurance Brokers, mobility startups Revamp Moto, BattRe and ZEVO, agritech startup BharatRohan, SaaS platforms Stylework and PDRL (Passenger Drone Research Pvt Ltd), deeptech firm Immersive Labz, and AI/AR startup Twyn.
