(WBFF) — Road closures and parking restrictions will be in place throughout Baltimore on Saturday, September 6, due to the 2025 Maryland Cycling Classic.

The women’s race begins at 8:30 a.m. and comprises of four laps of the 17.9 mile circuit course. The men’s race begins at 12:30 p.m. and will be six laps total. Both races begin at Harbor Point’s Central Plaza and end on East Pratt Street along the Inner Harbor.

During the event, the entire race circuit will be closed to vehicular traffic. The roadways will begin closing around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, with all affected streets fully closed by 6:30 a.m. The majority of roads will remain closed until roughly 6 p.m. that evening, with detours and parking restrictions in place.

Motorists are encouraged to download the Waze app for live detour navigation.

Rolling closures will be in effect during the race, with police and traffic control personnel managing periodic breaks for traffic to cross the race route once riders pass.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, as traveling to and from destinations around the race’s footprint “will be very difficult throughout the day,” according to the release from Baltimore City Department of Transportation.

Parking restrictions will also be implemented along the entire race route starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 5, and lasting through 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 6. Violating vehicles will be ticketed and relocated.

Charm City Circulator Service Alert: Charm City Circulator (CCC) patrons should be aware that CCC bus operations along all routes will be modified on race day until 8:00 p.m. CCC service on race day may be delayed with longer than normal wait times. MDOT MTA Service Alert: Temporary MTA bus diversions and modified mobility pick up/drop off locations will be in effect during the event. Please refer to the MTA’s website for additional information.

Commercial vehicle restrictions will also be in place in downtown Baltimore on race day between 3 a.m. and 6 p.m. Commercial vehicle, including tanker trailers, are barred from downtown/Inner Harbor areas of the city during that time. This excludes cabs, buses, and other mass transportation vehicles, however.
