Team USA’s path to gold is set after the 2025 World Boxing Championships draw concluded this evening from M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England. The United States will be represented by 14 boxers, seven men and seven women.
Their 2025 World Boxing Championships journey will kick off tomorrow, September 4, and conclude on September 14. Team USA has had three international events in preparation for the World Boxing Championships, where the Stars and Stripes logged a total of 16 medals, including two gold medals, five silver medals, and nine bronze medals.
Kicking it off for Team USA on September 4 is Carlos Flowers (Dover, Del.), as the Delaware native will make his return to the ring since he won a bronze medal at the World Boxing Cup: Brazil 2025. Flowers is going head-to-head with Azerbaijan’s Sarkhan Aliyev in the morning session and bout No. 10. Following Flowers will be Orlando Zamora (Turlock, Calif.) and Rene Camacho (Houston, Texas), as the two Americans will box tomorrow as well in the morning session, with Zamora boxing Kyrgyzstan’s Zafarbek Kamilov in bout No. 20 and Camacho boxing Croatia’s Filip Poturovic in bout No. 23.
Rounding out day one for Team USA are Ramon Ordonez (Newark, N.J.) and Malachi Georges (Teaneck, N.J.). Ordonez will box Kevin Davila out of Mexico in bout No. 37, and Georges will conclude it for Team USA in bout No. 43 against Estonia’s Stiven Aas.
Moving on to day two of the 2025 World Boxing Championships on September 5, Team USA will have three boxers competing, including two Paris 2024 Olympians. Alyssa Mendoza (Caldwell, Idaho) will get things started as she will box a fellow Paris 2024 Olympian, Valeria Arboleda Mendoza, out of Colombia. Morelle McCane (Cleveland, Ohio) will join her in the morning session and go up against England’s 2024 European U-23 gold medalist and World Boxing Cup: Brazil 2025 gold medalist Sacha Hickey.
After America’s two Olympians compete in the morning session, Team USA’s Super Heavyweight and two-time 2025 international medalist Kelvin Watts (Chesapeake, Va.) will square off with Lithuania’s Algirdas Baniulis in the evening session.
Team USA will then have three Olympians entering the ring on September 6, as Jennifer Lozano (Laredo, Texas) will box India’s two-time World Champion and 2024 Olympian, Nikhat Zareen. Also, boxing day three will be Naomi Graham (Fayetteville, N.C.) against Spain’s D Mas Martinez and Jajaira Gonzlez (Glendora, Calif.) against Slovakia’s Miroslava Jedinakova.
USA’s 2021 World Champion Robby “Rahim” Gonzales (Las Vegas, Nev.) will return to the World Championship stage after winning gold back in Serbia. Now, he will look to win another gold in 2025 and begin his journey against Cuba’s Jorge Soto on September 7. Boxing later in the evening session and making her international debut is Isabella Winkler (Seattle, Wash.), who will box Turkey’s Sema Caliskan.
And to conclude the first and second round matchups from the draw this evening, Yoseline Perez (Houston, Texas) earned a bye after her dominant 2025 campaign and will face the winner of Ireland’s Jennifer Lehane and Poland’s Wiktoria Rogalinska on September 8.
