A Calgary man is facing sexual assault and child pornography charges following an alleged inappropriate relationship with a young teen.

Calgary police say they began an investigation in November 2024 after getting reports of the relationship between a man in his 40s and a 14-year-old girl.

Investigators learned the man met the girl two months earlier when she started coming to his house in the northwest community of Rosemont to visit a friend. The two eventually started spending time alone, and it is alleged that the man sexually assaulted the girl.

In May 2025, officers executed a search warrant at the man’s home and seized several electronic devices. He was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference with a minor.

Investigators have since found more evidence in the wake of the search warrant that they say supports additional charges against the man in connection with the original victim, as well as a second victim.

Both victims are getting support from the Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, an organization that supports child abuse victim and their families.

Police say 48-year-old Bradley Scott Carrier is facing eight charges, the original two charges of sexual assault and sexual interference, as well as six new charges related to making, accessing, and possessing child pornography.

The accused has been released on conditions and will appear in court later this month.
