McGill’s 2025 cohort includes seven newly elected Fellows and four new Members of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.
On September 4, the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) announced its newest cohort of Fellows, and members of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists. Amongst the 2025 cohort are eleven McGill researchers and scholars – seven newly elected Fellows and four new Members – recognized for their exceptional contributions to their fields. The RSC will also be announcing their 2025 award winners on September 8, further highlighting outstanding achievements across disciplines. The 2025 cohort will be celebrated on November 14, in Montreal at the RSC’s Annual Gala.

The new Fellows, elected by their peers, are being honoured for outstanding achievement and impact, including contributions to public life. They join more than 2,500 distinguished Canadian scholars, artists and scientists already named to one of the three Academies: Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences and Science.

The College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists is Canada’s first national system of multidisciplinary recognition for emerging intellectual leaders. It has more than 400 Members who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in their disciplines and are within 15 years of having received their PhD or disciplinary equivalent.
