Uncrowned has Eduardo “Sugar” Nunez vs. Christopher Diaz live results, round-by-round updates, highlights, ring walks and start time for the Nunez vs. Diaz fight card on Saturday night at Centro de Usos Múltiples Los Mochis in Los Mochis, Mexico. In the evening’s main event, Mexico’s Nunez makes the first defense of his IBF super featherweight crown against Puerto Rico’s Diaz.

Nunez (29-1, 28 KOs) captured the IBF title with a unanimous decision over Masanori Rikiishi this past May in Japan. Prior to that, he defeated Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov in a Fight of the Year contender in February 2024 to become the IBF mandatory. Nunez also made his U.S. debut in August of that year, stopping Miguel Marriaga in six rounds. After being away from his native Mexico for three consecutive fights, Nunez returns to his homeland for his maiden title defense, with a 7,000-strong crowd expected in Los Mochis.

Diaz (30-5, 19 KOs) has unsuccessfully challenged for world titles on two prior occasions. The Puerto Rican fell short to Masayuki Ito for the WBO super featherweight title in 2018, then was stopped in the final round by Emanuel Navarrete in 2021 for the WBO featherweight championship. Diaz was beaten for a fifth time this past December by Henry Lebron, but has since rebounded with a decision win over Jose Antonio Meza in April.

In the night’s co-feature, Mexico’s former WBC light flyweight world champion Pedro Guevara (43-5-1, 22 KOs) faces the late replacement Alexis Molina (13-1-1, 5 KOs) over 10 rounds at bantamweight. Guevara was supposed to clash with Adrian Curiel in a battle of former champs, however Curiel was forced to withdraw on fight week.
