Several former NHL players turn to administrative positions in the hockey world after their retirement.
This is the case for former Montreal Canadiens player Tomas Plekanec, who is currently the sporting director of Rytiri Kladno.
The Czech is therefore responsible for building the lineup of his good friend Jaromir Jagr’s team.
“You can never say never”, said the man in question, keeping an open mind.
“I’ll think about it if the opportunity presents itself.”

Tomas Plekanec: an underestimated leader by many
Looking at how they manage the organization, it’s clear that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton will analyze the matter from every angle.
It’s exactly their style to appoint former players to strategic roles within the organization.
It’s also a bonus if they are former players of the organization.
We only need to think of Paul Byron, who now works as a consultant with the team.
Not to mention Francis Bouillon, who has kept his role in player development under this new era.
The addition of a Tomas Plekanec, who is learning the trade of club management, would therefore not be negligible.
His experience with 984 games in the blue, white, and red uniform could certainly help many.
The former number 14 of the club was an important piece of the early 2000s for the Canadiens.
He wasn’t always valued at his true worth by the fans but was always highly respected by his teammates.
If I were Hughes or Gorton, I would, without hesitation, give Kladno a call to see what could be done!
