As part of a recent Q&A session, journalist Marco D’Amico spoke about the possibility of a trade involving Steven Stamkos.Could a reunion between Stamkos and Martin St-Louis be possible, especially if Patrik Laine leaves at the end of the season via free agency?

D’Amico doesn’t seem to think so.

This was a rumor that circulated last season, and the question was asked to the journalist.

“Could Stamkos be a possibility given Nashville’s position compared to where they thought they would be? Reuniting him with Marty could be a lethal weapon. What are your thoughts?”

Answer from Marco D’Amico.

“I don’t think that’s a possibility.”

So, we can clearly and officially forget about the project.

A trade between the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville involving Steven Stamkos is not a possibility according to Marco D’Amico

It’s a trade that had been suggested by some observers, but one we can clearly forget.

Marco D’Amico is very well informed, so if he considers it’s not an option, then indeed it’s not an option for the Tricolore (unless there’s a major surprise).

Steven Stamkos, now 35 years old, is a 6-foot-1, 193-pound forward who was the first overall pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2008.

Last season in Nashville, in his first campaign with the Preds, he collected 53 points in 82 games (after producing 81 points in 79 games, including 40 goals, in 2023-24 with Tampa).
