Defenceman Tom Willander and forward Jonathan Lekkerimaki were among the players named to the team’s rookie-camp roster on Tuesday.
The Canucks will play a pair of games against the Kraken on Saturday and Sunday as part of the Prospect Showcase in Everett, Wash., and Seattle.
Willander, 20, was selected 11th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft by the Canucks. He recently completed his second season with the Boston University Terriers, notching two goals and 24 points in 39 games. In 77 total games with the Terriers, the Swede recorded 49 points.
Lekkerimaki, 21, was the team’s first-round pick one year earlier at 15th overall. He made his NHL debut last season with the Canucks, playing 24 games and recording three goals and three assists.
Another Swedish player with NHL experience — defenceman Elias Pettersson — also will be on the roster. The 21-year-old, a third-round pick in 2022, skated in 28 games for Vancouver last season, notching one goal and two assists.
