With the US Open officially over, Russian tennis star Anna Kalinskaya grabbed everyone’s attention by revealing that she has received 10 messages from one of the top players on the ATP Tour.

Kalinskaya, 26, is coming off a fairly impressive stretch of tournaments in the United States. She made the Citi Open final, reached the quarterfinals at the Cincinnati Masters, and made it to the third round of the US Open. Her third-round match against Iga Swiatek at the US Open was quite thrilling even though she lost 7-6 (2), 6-4.

Earlier this week, Kalinskaya talked about receiving interest from male tennis players during an interview with the First&Red channel. That led to her sharing some tea with her fans.

“Now I’m older. I don’t know, for some, it’s just no chance at all. No need to write. Someone wrote like 10 times and then gave up,” Kalinskaya said.

Kalinskaya was more than happy to unveil the player’s identity once she was asked to do so.

“I’ll say it now, but Holger Rune. He writes to everyone,” she continued. “He deserves all this. Thinks too much of himself. But he’s not the only one. A couple [more].”

Rune, the No. 11 ranked player on the ATP Tour, wasted no time responding to these remarks from Kalinskaya. He claims he wasn’t trying to ask her on a date.

“Ha ha ha. We might have cultural differences that make Anna read a comment on a story as an invitation to a date,” Rune wrote on X. “If I want to go on a date, I ask for a date . Don’t worry.”

Plenty of fans are applauding this response from Rune, but there also others demanding to see his messages.

Kalinskaya previously dated Jannik Sinner.

During the 2024 season, Kalinskaya and Sinner confirmed their romance. They shared an intimate moment after the latter won the US Open final last September.

“You know, I don’t like to talk much about my private life,” Sinner said. “I want to protect the people closest to me, keeping them out of this. I see it as a small task to carry out, almost a duty: they helped me, when I was young, to gain self-confidence, and today in some way I want to protect them.”

Kalinskaya and Sinner went their separate ways at some point over the past year. In May 2025, the four-time Grand Slam champion from Italy confirmed that he’s single. However, there are rumors linking him to Danish model Laila Hasanovic.

As for Kalinskaya, it’s fair to say she’s not exactly interested in dating another tennis player at the moment.
