JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Blue Jay Boys Soccer hopes that a first-half flurry can start a turnaround.
Miles Anderson scored twice within two minutes in the first half Tuesday as the Blue Jays snapped their five-match losing streak with a 4-1 win over Century at Rotary Field.
Anderson scored in the 12th minute for Jamestown (3-5-1, 3-5-0 WDA), assisted by Dylan Oswalt. In the 14th minute, Abel Dolokelen set up Anderson’s second goal.
Century (3-4-1, 3-4-1 WDA) was within 2-1 at halftime thanks to a 40th-minute goal by Gaege Gangness.
Damour Muturusta restored the two-goal Jamestown lead in the 54th minute, then Peace Tukumunde capped the win in the 79th minute, assisted by Grady Eckart.
Evan Harty was busy in goal for Jamestown, making nine saves.
The Blue Jays will next play on Thursday, September 18 at Dickinson.
