History

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Concordia Texas women’s soccer team dueled to a 0-0 draw against inner-city foe Huston-Tillotson. Senior goalkeeper Avery Wright (five saves) & the Tornados’ defense earned their first clean sheet of the season at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex on Wednesday.

Both teams saw opportunities & fired off shots in the first half, but each keeper would record three saves a piece for a scoreless first half.

Coming out of the break, CTX seemed to have netted the game winner just a minute into the second half but the line judge called offsides to call off the goal.

Putting the pressure on even more, Concordia outshot the Rams 11-8 in the second half (7-5 shots on goal for the entire game). With time waning down, a pair of shots from Emma Payne would go just wide right & an attempt from Maddie Oberholtzer in the box would be blocked to preserve a draw.

Concordia Texas will next travel to Victoria, Texas to take on Texas A&M-Victoria (formerly known as Univeristy of Houston-Victoria) this Saturday, September 13th. Kick off is scheduled for 1pm.
