A fire in Deseronto has left a historic building in ruins—and now, two young people are facing serious charges.
It happened Monday night, just after six o’clock, when flames tore through the old Canada Optical and flea market building on Main Street.
By the time emergency crews arrived, the structure was engulfed.
After digging into the cause, the Lennox and Addington OPP say two youths are now facing charges, including arson, break and enter, and mischief.
Because of their age, their names aren’t being released.
The pair are heading to youth court in Greater Napanee in the coming weeks.
