The Shark is exiting the waters.

Former CEO Greg Norman is done at LIV Golf after four years, he said in an Instagram post on Thursday.

“I’m so proud of what we accomplished. My commitment to do what was and still is, the right thing for golf, the players and fans never wavered,” Norman wrote.

Norman, a two-time Open champion, helped spearhead LIV, the breakaway Saudi-funded golf tour that began play in 2022.

He served as its CEO until January when he was replaced by former Philadelphia 76ers executive Scott O’Neil.

It is unclear what Norman’s role has been since he was replaced by O’Neil, but his last official day was Aug. 31.

Norman said LIV has “changed the game globally.”

“We created opportunities for both players and fans and broaden the ecosystem of golf. We truly globalized the game and expanded golf’s reach to fans around the world. We brought entertainment, innovation and private equity into golf,” he wrote.

LIV, once branded as ‘golf, but louder,’ aspired to increase the entertainment in the sport by adding a team element and shortening tournaments to 54 holes each.

It recently wrapped its fourth season, crowning Spain’s Jon Rahm as its individual champion.

“Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey with me during this time. I’ll always look back on this time with great fulfillment and appreciation,” he wrote.

“As for what’s next…stay tuned! Exciting times ahead. Onward to the next adventure.”
