The minister who signed a proclamation yesterday in St. John’s to mark World Suicide Prevention and Awareness Week says they are making progress in the field, but there is still lots to do.
Pam Parsons points to the opening of the new Mental Health and Addictions Facility as a step which has increased and improved supports for people who need help.
She says anyone who need help should avail of services such as 8-1-1.
She notes the formation of an all-party committee on mental health, substance abuse and addiction as a step in the right direction.
The 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline is also available to those who need it.
