Josh Berry and the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane team will roll off from the 10th starting position in Saturday night’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway, giving the driver a strong platform as he looks to keep his championship hopes alive and advance to the Round of 12.
Berry secured the 10th starting position on Friday with a lap around the high-banked concrete short track at 126.121 miles per hour.
“I thought it was a big improvement from practice,” Berry said. “I didn’t feel very comfortable at the start of practice because I was struggling being pretty free. But the guys make some really good adjustments there. I thought we hit a solid lap, probably left a touch out there with how far off we were to start, but overall the guys did a really good job.”
Berry said his mindset for Saturday night, where he needs a win to advance in the Playoffs, is no different than any other race.
“Every week we come out here and try to win,” he said. “We try to do the best job we can every time we’re on the racetrack, and that’s going to be the same tomorrow. We just need to be able to move forward through the race and execute, have good pit stops and just see what happens.”
Saturday’s 500-lap race is set to get the green flag just after 7:30 p.m. ET with TV coverage on USA Network. Stage breaks are planned for Laps 125 and 250.
