SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Senior Yuma Daijima claimed the Flight A Singles championship as the Creighton men’s Tennis team closed out play at the Augustana Invite on Sunday afternoon in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Daijima opened his senior campaign with a 3-0 record, capturing the Flight A Singles crown with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 win over North Dakota’s Leo Galliano. 

Daijima then teamed up with freshman Jasper Camehn to claim the Flight B Doubles Consolation championship following wins over Augustana’s Clayton Poppenga and Sebastian Garcia (8-4), as well as Augie’s Deuce Daniel and Luke Fridinger (8-5). 

Camehn also claimed an 8-4 victory over Augustana’s Jose Antonio Velasco to win the Flight A consolation bracket, while freshman Mathis Dahler picked up an 8-5 win over Lukas Mandelik in the Flight B consolation finals. 

The Bluejays return to the courts on Oct. 4th and 5th for the Omaha Invite at the Koch Family Tennis Center.
