Parks Canada says the Hay Camp Road is closed inside Wood Buffalo National Park while crews deal with an active wildfire nearby.
In a notice issued on Saturday, Parks Canada said the road is closed “from 15 km north of Hay Camp to Road End, including secondary routes and side roads; the road to Murdoch Creek, boat launch access and the road into Labutte Tower to the south west.”
Parks Canada said the fire, 45 km south of Fort Fitzgerald, is not a threat to For Smith.
“Fire personnel have been deployed to place and maintain structure protection on values in the area,” the notice stated.
