The development is not unexpected since this is the last day on which an election writ must be dropped according to provincial legislation.

That means Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are heading to the polls on October 14th.

All three parties will formally launch their election campaigns this evening over the supper hour. The Liberal Party has booked Bally Haly for its campaign launch, while the PCs and NDP are both launching their campaigns from their headquarters, both of which happen to be located on Pippy Place.
