Derrick White and Jaylen Brown are the only two starters left from last season’s Boston Celtics who will take the court this year. White is confident that Brown has the potential to reach an impressive milestone this season.
On his podcast “White Noise” on Sept. 3, White was asked to predict the 2025-26 All-NBA First Team selections — and he had Brown making the list.
“I mean, probably (Nikola) Jokic, Giannis (Antetokounmpo), that’s probably the obvious ones,” White said, via Hardwood Houndini. “Luka Doncic, Shai (Gilgeous-Alexander) and Jaylen Brown.”
Brown has made the All-NBA team once, earning a spot on the 2022-23 All-NBA Second Team.
Brown has been one of the best players in the league, yet he has never been named to an All-NBA First Team. This season could be his opportunity to change that.

Forward Jayson Tatum has been selected to the All-NBA First Team for the last four years, making it challenging for Brown to achieve this honor, as teammates often struggle to be included on the First Team together.
However, Tatum will miss most, if not all, of this season due to a torn Achilles. This situation will provide Brown with opportunities to take on the team’s No. 1 scoring option, which could help him boost his stats and move closer to his goal of making the All-NBA First Team.
