LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men’s tennis is set to continue tournament play this week in Pocatello at the Idaho State Invite. The tournament runs Friday, Sept. 19, through Sunday, Sept. 21.

Utah State men’s tennis opened its fall season at the Boise State Invite, picking up eight total wins in singles and doubles play. Sophomore transfer Brody Nejedly-Krall led the way with three singles victories and two doubles wins. Teaming up with sophomore Eemil Pasanen, the duo posted wins over Idaho State (6-3) and Portland (7-6 (3)) in doubles. In singles, Nejedly-Krall earned straight-set wins over Portland’s Eli Noel (6-4, 6-3) and Idaho State’s Tyler Dalos (6-1, 6-4), before closing the weekend with a three-set victory against ISU’s Rafael Maya (4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-4)).
Other singles highlights included sophomore transfer Xavier Calvelo’s comeback win over Idaho’s Miolaj Lis (3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4)), Pasanen’s straight-sets victory against ISU’s Hayden Ciguenza (6-3, 7-6 (4)), and freshman Emmanuel Alex’s first collegiate win as an Aggie over ISU’s Quentin Lamothe (6-3, 7-6 (6)).
