Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, has been arrested and hit with a felony charge after he viciously attacked a professional wrestler at a show in California in August.
Los Angeles county jail records show that Jackson was arrested and booked on Thursday around 9:00 a.m. local time and he’s currently being held on $50,000 bail. As of now, Jackson remains in custody.
TMZ first reported the arrest.
Jackson was booked under a felony charge but the exact details of the case pending against him haven’t been revealed yet. Online records haven’t updated with Jackson’s case following his initial arrest.
The arrest comes nearly a month after Jackson got involved in a pro wrestling match at a Knockx event in Los Angeles where he stormed the ring and slammed Stuart Smith (ring name Syko Stu) to the ground before unleashing a series of brutal punches. Smith was seemingly unconscious just seconds after he was dropped on the canvas but Jackson continued throwing punches until other wrestlers eventually pulled him off.
Smith was taken to the hospital where he spent several days in intensive care before being released.
Jackson’s involvement in the match was pre-arranged but the 25-year-old fighter actually assaulted Smith after they got into an altercation earlier in the day. Smith had hit Jackson with a beer can prior to the event believing he was another pro wrestler involved to help hype the show but video captured showed him apologizing and the two shook hands after the incident.
Before jumping into the ring, Jackson vented his anger about the entire situation on a live stream and claimed he was going to get his revenge “for real” during the match.
Family members posted an update on Smith after his release and revealed that he suffered trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which caused him to lose several teeth from the assault.
Los Angeles Police later confirmed that an investigation was ongoing into the assault but it took several weeks before authorities finally charged Jackson with a crime and took him into custody.
Now Jackson has been arrested and hit with a felony charge over the assault and remains in custody pending his bail being posted.
