Vernon Adams Jr. was forced to leave his first game against his former team early.
The Calgary Stampeders quarterback was ruled out by the team after he took a knee to the back of his head while sliding down after a third-quarter run.
B.C. Lions defensive back Jackson Findlay went over the diving Adams, but unfortunately caught him with his knee.
Adams stumbled as he got up and was replaced by P.J. Walker after the injury spotter removed him from the game.
Before departing, Adams had completed 11 of his 16 passes for 125 yards and tossed two interceptions.
Adams has been a key piece of Calagry’s resurgence in 2025. He entered Friday’s game with 15 passing touchdowns and 2,831 yards in 11 games.
The nine-year CFL veteran served as the Lions’ quarterback in 2023 and ’24.
