Following No. 6-seeded Indiana’s dramatic upset series victory on Thursday via an 87-85 Game 3 win over the No. 3-seeded Atlanta Dream, the Fever will now play in Game 1 of a best-of-five WNBA Playoffs Semifinals series vs. the No. 2-seeded Las Vegas Aces today from Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Despite the Fever winning the three-game regular season series over the Aces by a 2-1 margin, both teams have drastically changed since their last meeting on July 24, particularly through Indiana’s five season-ending injuries to to Sophie Cunningham (torn MCL), Sydney Colson (torn ACL), Aari McDonald (broken bone in foot), Chloe Bibby (knee inflammation/discomfort), and Caitlin Clark (right groin).

For Las Vegas, they are anchored by one of the best centers in the league, A’Ja Wilson, who averaged 23.4 points in the regular season and currently boasts a staggering 29.3 points per game scoring pace generated through the Aces’ highly contested three-game first-round series win over No. 7-seeded Seattle.

While Clark is unable to play due to her injury designation at the start of the 2025 WNBA playoffs, the series matchup will pair her against fellow Hawkeyes legend, Megan Gustafson, who currently serves in a reserve center role for Las Vegas.

For Iowa fans, the semifinal series could be a win-win scenario as a former Iowa women’s basketball star will be represented in the 2025 WNBA Finals, regardless of who advances.

According to the IndyStar’s Chloe Peterson, Indiana forward Damiris Dantas will be the only missing player from both teams’ available roster entering tonight’s matchup, as she is still in concussion protocol. This will be her fourth consecutive game missed due to the injury, as the talented depth piece missed all three games in the Fever’s first-round series.
