After cutting four drivers from the playoff field after last weekend’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race on the short track at Bristol, none of the 12 remaining drivers are more than three points below the cutoff line for the Round of 8. Bubba Wallace is the driver on the bubble as the round begins, one point ahead of Austin Cindric, two points clear of two-time NASCAR Cup champion Joey Logano and Ross Chastain and three points up on Tyler Reddick.
Defending NASCAR Cup champion Ryan Blaney has a 19-point edge over Cindric entering the Round of 12. Denny Hamlin leads the standings in his quest for that elusive first NASCAR Cup title. Hamlin finished second in 2010. With 59 career race wins, Hamlin is the winningest driver to have never won the championship. Christopher Bell, who won last year’s race in New Hampshire, comes off a win at Bristol last weekend.
This is a great NASCAR Cup Series race that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
