Alex Pereira has touched down in “Sin City” for his UFC 320 title rematch with Magomed Ankalaev, and he appears to be in strong form.

Former two-division UFC champion Pereira (12-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) will attempt to reclaim the light heavyweight belt in the Oct. 4 headliner at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) when he rematches reigning titleholder Ankalaev (21-1-1 MMA, 12-1-1 UFC) in a contest that will be a defining point in time for “Poatan.”

After losing the strap to Ankalaev by unanimous decision at UFC 313 in March, Pereira claims he has identified the mistakes that he made in the initial meeting and expects a different story in the sequel.

Before he gets into the octagon, however, Pereira must first make weight. He checked his number on the scale after setting up with his team at their accommodations, and he was 234.1 pounds.

Pereira will have to make it down to 205 pounds or less to meet the contracted championship-weight limit for UFC 320 official weigh-ins on Friday, Oct. 3.

It’s going to take some work for Pereira to hit the limit, but he has never missed weight during his MMA career thus far. Moreover, his current weight makes it only even more stunning that he repeatedly got himself down to the middleweight and also captured UFC gold there.
