A motorcyclist is dead after a collision involving a pickup truck in Markham Tuesday night.

York Regional Police say it happened at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Reesor Road.

The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

The cause of the collision is unknown and whether the wet conditions played a factor. Markham was under a severe thunderstorm warning earlier.
