Sens forward Lars Eller said via Postmedia’s Bruce Garrioch Wednesday that he had abdominal surgery for an issue that had been lingering since last November. He does not have a firm timeline on when he’ll suit up but did say he’s closing in on a return.
Eller said he had the surgery in New York in late July. It was revealed last week he’d had the procedure and would miss the start of camp.

The 36-year-old Eller had six goals and nine assists for 15 points in 63 games last season for the Washington Capitals. He joined the Sens on a one-year deal on July 1.
New York Islanders
Forward Anders Lee is out one to two weeks with an upper-body injury, the team announced.
