A welterweight matchup between rising contender Gabriel Bonfim and veteran Randy Brown has a new home.

According to a recent report by MMA reporter Marcel Dorff, Bonfim vs. Brown will no longer take place at UFC Rio on Oct. 11 in Brazil. It was a fight that was supposed to help bolster UFC’s return to Rio de Janeiro, but UFC matchmakers ultimately had other plans.

The welterweight pair will now be moved over to the upcoming UFC Vegas 111 card on Nov. 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It might seem like a downgrade, especially for a rising Brazilian fighter like Bonfim, but the two will actually headline the event. That should result in even more exposure for Bonfim and give him a chance to capitalize atop his own event.

As for Brown, this ultimately saves him a trip to Brazil and the hassle of fighting in enemy territory. This will also be Brown’s first UFC main event spot after fighting for the promotion for the past 10 years. “Rude Boy” is 8-2 in his last 10 trips to the Octagon and could crack the welterweight top 15 with a win over Bonfim this November.
