Durham regional police say a man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife in Newcastle earlier this month.
Officers were called to a home near Farrow Avenue and Highway 2 just after 9 a.m. on Sept. 16, where they found a 62-year-old woman with “obvious signs of trauma.”
She was pronounced dead at the scene and recently identified as Marilyn Stevens, of Newcastle on Tuesday.
