Birmingham, Ala. – The Missouri State Bears men’s soccer team (3-3-2, 1-2-0) fell to the UAB Blazers (2-5-1, 1-2-0) by a 4-0 final on Saturday night in an American Conference contest.
The Blazers played fearlessly, dominating early in the first half finding the back of the net three times in the 11th, 16th and 27th minutes. The Bears recorded six shots but were simply unable to capitalize on any opportunities.
UAB continued with the momentum in the second half, simply not allowing MSU to get on the board. In 76th minute, the Blazers once again capitalized on a great assist by the goalkeeper to score and take a 4-0 lead.
In total, the Bears recorded 21 shots with five shots on goal, compared to the Blazers’ eight shots, with six on goal. The Bears also took 19 corner kicks to the Blazers’ three.
The Missouri State Bears will host Florida Atlantic at home at Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium on Friday, Oct. 3, at 7:00 p.m. Admission to all home games is free all season.
