MINOT, N.D. – A pair of road wins by the Minot State women’s soccer team earned the Beavers a pair of NSIC awards this week.

Monday, the league announced its Players of the Week and Minot State forward Anna Miotto and goalie Rebecca Sargent were honored as the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week and the NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.

Friday night in a 1-0 road win at Concordia, St. Paul, Miotto scored the game’s lone goal while Sargent made 7 saves in goal for Minot State (2-4-1 overall, 2-1-1 NSIC).

Sunday, Miotto assisted on the Beavers’ first goal of the game in a 4-1 win at Winona State, and netted her third of the season, which put Minot State on top 4-0 in the contest.

Sargent added 3 saves in the win, stopping all three shots she faced in 74 minutes of action before being relieved in the game by teammate Jayen Alger for the final 16 minutes.

The honor is the first of the season for both Miotto and Sargent, and the first for Minot State, which is back on the road this weekend playing at Minnesota Duluth on Friday, and at Bemidji State on Sunday.
