Jim DeLapa Collegiate Leaderboard

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Putting a bow with the final round on Monday, the Pacific men’s golf program put the finishing touches toward an eighth place nod at the inaugural Jim DeLapa Collegiate, hosted by Central Michigan at the historic Point O’ Woods Golf & Country Club.

The Tigers (+3/843) completed their second consecutive tournament in the middle of the pack, finishing as the No. 8 team out of the 13-team field. San Jose State utilized the best third round of all schools to be crowned champion of the event with a 15-under par. Michigan’s Dean Muratore won the event as the individual with a 14-under par.

Pacific was spearheaded by the strong performance of redshirt junior Deitrek Gill, who finished among the top ten of the individual leaderboard with a five-under par. Gill, who had an even stronger second round yesterday, moved up two spots on Monday to stand in sixth place individually at the end of competition. Gill finished the tournament with 11 birdies and one eagle on the second hole during the second round.

Sophomore Felix Bouchard fell a few spots but remained in the top 15 individually with a one-under par total. Bouchard collected eight birdies across the two days to secure a tie for 14th place among the 75 players.

Junior Justin Bai, senior Timothy Jung and senior Ian Fritz completed the rest of the team scoring for the Tigers, carding scores of four-over par, seven-over par and nine-over par, respectively.

The Tigers return to the Golden State to host the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational from Thursday, Oct. 9 to Saturday, Oct. 11 at The Reserve at Spanos Park. Last season, the Tigers posted a runner-up finish in the event as a team while senior Travis Robbie was crowned the individual champion.
